Teacher-turned-photographer and blogger, based in Hamburg.
Fascinated by photography since the early nineteen-eighties. Self-taught, inspired by Michael Freeman’s excellent books, and spurred on by initial setbacks.
Got interested in documentary photography and people photography while working as a teacher, directing a school drama group and teaching photography courses at school.
1988 to 1992 – photographer to the Anglo-American Theatre Group at Christian-Albrechts-Universität, Kiel.
2005 – went digital and still enjoying the new creative freedom.
2007 – after early retirement from teaching decision to spend the remains of the day as a photographer and blogger.
This website showcases a cross-section of my recent work. You can find the day-to-day work in my blog.
